Walkie Talkie: How to Use Walkie Talkie’s Apple Watch feature

Walkie Talkie: Chat with other Apple Watch users online easily and securely.
If you ever need to contact another Apple Watch user but don’t have an LTE clock, the app is your ticket. It is a feature copied by competitors like Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4, and allows two users to connect online using their Apple Watches. But how does this feature really work, and how can you use it? Open the app.
Touch a friend’s name.
Touch and hold the speak button.
How to use the app on Apple Watch
Although the app is very useful, you will need to go through a few setup steps before you can use it. First of all, make sure you have an Apple Watch Series 1 that uses watchOS 5.3 or newer. You will also need FaceTime installed on your iPhone running at least iOS 12.4.

Once you have selected all the boxes above, you will need to add friends to the app before you can talk to them.

Invite friends with the Walkie Talkie app

Open the app.
Tap the Add Friends button.
Select a contact and wait for your friend to accept the invitation.
If your friend accepts the invitation, his or her contact card will be yellow. It will remain gray if they do not accept your application.

If you are in the process of accepting an invitation, you can tap Always Allow in invitation notification.

Start a conversation with a friend
Once you have friends in the app, you can now chat with them freely.

Starting a conversation with the Walkie Talkie app:

Open the app on your Apple Watch.
Tap on a friend’s name.
Touch and hold the speak button, then say something. “Connect” should appear on the screen. Once you’re connected, you can talk to your friend.
Remarkably, your message is sent only after you touch and hold the speak button, say something, and then release the button. Your friend will hear what you have to say after you release the button.

How to close the Walkie Talkie app on Apple Watch

You may not want the app to work all the time. Thankfully, you can turn it off if you do not use it.

To disable the Walkie Talkie app on Apple Watch:

Open the app.
Modify the Walkie Talkie master switch.
You can also disable the application in the control center.

Tap and hold down the Apple Watch screen, then swipe up to access the control center.
Tap the Walkie Talkie button to disable it.
