Tom Daley completes a 4-day return visit to Comic Relief

Tom Daley has completed his Hell of a Homecoming for Comic Relief campaign. The four-day challenge has seen him paddle, swim, ride a bicycle and run from London to his hometown of Plymouth, Devon.

London Aquatics Center in Stratford

He started work on Monday, leaving the London Aquatics Center in Stratford and traveled 9.5 miles [9.5 km] to Tower Pier, where he rolled his boat across the Thames.

Tom Daley then completed a 60-mile (97km) round trip to Redgrave Pinsent Rowing Lake in Reading, Berkshire.

Swim in the open water

On the second day he completed a 5249 ft (1,600m) swim in the open water. Before embarking on a 63-mile (101km) round trip to Southampton.
He faced heavy rain and wind during a 130-mile (209km) round trip from Southampton on Wednesday. Climbing more than 3,000ft (915m) to raise money for Comic Relief.

“I feel physically exhausted, mentally exhausted and spent more than 15 hours cycling yesterday. Climbing very steep hills because of the wind and the weather,” he said, adding that it was a very difficult part of the challenge.

Tom Daley said his legs “suddenly became loose” and he fell and could not move “but had to get back on his bike.”
