WhatsApp was relatively small, compared to competing chat forums such as Telegram, but ultimately added the ability to use sticker in 2018. However, the choice of built-in WhatsApp sticker may be limited, especially if you want to add a local flavor. or an inner joke in a conversation with friends or family. Here’s how to create your own sticker on WhatsApp.
How to make WhatsApp sticker on Android
The beta version of WhatsApp means that the first person app to create sticker may be on the way, but you will have to rely on third-party apps to make your own stickers until the company comes up with its own solution.
If you are looking for a specific way to add photos to WhatsApp as sticker, Sticker.ly is one of the many different options available. Sticker.ly is free and offers a wide variety of stickers based on trending and popular topics, close to the ability to create your own custom or animated sticker. The following steps should get you started with your packet of stickers within minutes.
In Sticker.ly, press the merge button and select the standard or animation depending on the type of sticker you want to create.
Select an image of your choice in the phone’s built-in storage.
Touch the default button to automatically split a photo or use a man-made selection to mark which parts of the image you would like to keep on the sticker.
Tap next and add text or sticker emoji.
Give the sticker pack a unique name and touch add to WhatsApp.
The sticker will now appear on WhatsApp.
How to make WhatsApp stickers on iPhone
Like Android devices, you will need an app to create WhatsApp stickers on iPhone. Searching for the iOS app store offers many options, but Top Sticker is my preferred app. Like Sticker.ly, you will find a selected collection of stickers included here, but making your own stickers is just as easy.
In Top Stickers, press the create button.
Select one or more photos from your photo gallery.
You can use the magic wand tool to clear the background or add text and borders to the next screen.
Tap done to create a pack of new stickers and add to WhatsApp.
Using the WhatsApp web desktop (beta)
Recently, WhatsApp added support for creating sticker for beta channel users. The option has now been released to many users in the last few weeks, and making your WhatsApp sticker is as easy as touching the sticker tab in the chat and clicking the create button. You can then upload the image and edit it as adding emoji or text. Click Post to create and share a sticker.
