Sangakkara, Jayawardene invited for the investigation of World Cup 2011 Final

Kumar Sangakkar, Mahela Jayawardene, Upul Tharanga and Aravinda de Silve called for the investigation infront of special investigation unit which is set by sport’s ministry of Sri Lanka. The investigation is about the match fixing of 2011 World Cup final. Spot-fixing is claim by Mahindananda Aluthgamage who was the sports minister of Sri Lanka at 2011.

He claimed that he has evidence of this Spot-fixing. The ICC anti Corruption never stated that final match of World Cup 2011 is suspicious. Senior Officials of ICC stated to ESPNcricinfo that they do not received any complaint related to Spot-fixing in the final.

Allegation of sports minister is on four changes that made by Sri Lankan team in final. Kumar Sangakara (Ex Captain) , Jayawardene (Ex Vice Captain), Silva (Ex chief selector) often and often said that changes were made due to injuries of two players. They didn’t play the semi-final but they were fit for the final. Angelo Mathews who was the backbone and balance the Sri Lankan side, when exited by the side it made the side weaker. It also disturb the batsman and bowler composition of the team.

On Tuesday De silva given the evidence before the investigation team. Tharanga had appeared infront of investigation on Wednesday. Sangakkara and Mahela will appear before the investigation team at weekend.
