Metaverse: Disney has appointed an official to lead a major metaverse entertainment strategy. Mike White, who has worked for the company for more than 10 years. Will oversee a team that includes senior executives.
In a call to staff, seen by the BBC. Chief executive Bob Chapek said the metaverse was “the next frontier for storytelling” to be considered in Disney .

In the memorandum, Mr. Chapek described the metaverse as “an ideal place to pursue. Our pillars of strategic success in storytelling, innovation, and audience engagement”.
“Teams from all over the company are looking at this new fabric. And I was amazed at what I saw,” he said.
Mr. White will be Disney vice president of Next Generation Storytelling and Consumer Experiences.
In the newly formed role he will share resources. Evaluate relationships and encourage the sharing of information about development, the company said.
He will also lead a team with skills that include technology, strategy and storytelling.
Disney said it sees the metaverse as the next version of its 100-year-old storytelling culture.
