He attended Bishop DuBourg High School. In his younger days, Dorsey worked as a fashion model from time to time. By the time he was 14, Dorsey was still interested in posting a route. One of the open source software he created in the shipping area is still used by taxi companies. Dorsey enrolled at the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1995 and studied for more than two years before moving to New York University in 1997, but dropped out two years later, one semester missing. He came up with an idea that eventually turned into Twitter while studying at NYU.
While working in shipping as a program editor, Dorsey moved to California. In 2000, Dorsey started his company in Oakland to send couriers, taxis, and emergency services to the Web. Some of his designs and ideas during this period included medical equipment networks and the “wireless service market”. In July 2000, further promoting and partially promoted by LiveJournal. And AOL Instant Messenger, he embarked on a real-world web-based. Messaging / messaging service.
instant messaging
When he first saw the use of instant messaging. Dorsey and Biz Stone decided the SMS text was appropriate for the status message view. And built a Twitter model in about two weeks. The idea attracted more Odeo users and investments from Evan Williams, the company’s founder in 2005 who left Google after selling Pyra Labs and Blogger.
Williams, Stone and Noah Glass co-founded Obvious Corporation, which came out on Twitter, Inc., with Dorsey as CEO. As CEO, Dorsey saw the implementation of two phases of venture capitalist ventures. He reportedly lost his early retirement to enjoy other things, such as yoga and fashion design.
As the service began to grow in popularity. Dorsey chose the development of time as a priority. Jack Dorsey described the commercial use of Twitter and its API as two potential contributors to paid features. He says his three guiding principles, which he says the company shares, are simple, binding and professional.
Williams took over as CEO
On October 16, 2008, Williams took over as CEO, with Dorsey as chairman of the board. During his tenure as chairman, Dorsey joined several State Department delegates, including a delegation to Iraq in April 2009, led by Jared Cohen. Dorsey responded to Cohen’s request for a delay in maintenance so as not to affect Iran’s transformation, because the Iranians were using Twitter to communicate and connect.
As President Obama had announced that there would be no interference in Iran, the move sparked controversy. In February 2010, Dorsey was part of a State Department delegation, this time in Russia. On March 28, 2011, he returned to Twitter as chairman after Dick Costolo took over as Williams’ CEO.
