Sindh Govt forced lockdown in Karachi’s South region

Sindh Govt forced lockdown in Karachi’s South region from today (July 3) till July 16. Multiple areas in the south region will face complete lockdown situation. As the new strategy of smart lockdown will be imposed by the sindh government to stop the spread of coronavirus in the largest economic capital of Pakistan.

Sindh Government issued a notification for areas listed for the lockdown. Areas include Clifton, Defense, Lyari, Garden and Kharadar.

Besides, all commercial areas of Khayaban-e-Rahat in Defence will remain completely closed. Whereas, business centres in Clifton Block 4 and 5 will remain closed. The Bath Island area will undergo a complete lockdown.

The deputy commissioners will be responsible for implementing the lockdown. Those found violating the lockdown will face penalty with respect to law.

Commissioner Karachi said, health advisory will be followed from now on to force smart lockdown in the city.

Kharadar areas which will face lockdown include Machhi Miani Market and Khori Garden. Whereas, Shoe Market, Hari Masjid, Jilani Masjid and Dolly Khata areas and Bazarta line in Saddar will also be sealed today.

To implement this complete lockdown, citizens will not be allowed to leave the house without a mask. No person allowed to leave the house without a solid reason.

One person from each house will be allowed to go outside to buy items of daily use by showing his/her CNIC.

In case of emergency, only one person will be allowed to go out with the patient as a caretaker. However, every kind of public transport will be banned.

Every shop and food deliveries in the affected area will be suspended except grocery and medical stores. Industries within the affected area will also remain closed till further notification.

Due to the ongoing COVID19 situation Sindh Govt forced lockdown in Karachi’s South region to stop the hike in numbers of corona affected people.
