Chromecast: Looking for a way to set up Google Chromecast? Google offers very little in the way of instructions. Here is our detailed guide.
Instructions on how to set up Google Chromecast is one thing the best streaming device does not provide. So, if you feel left out, we have all the tips on how to start using one of the best streaming devices.
Before you can start watching everything the internet has to offer, however, you will need to have the device running. The process of setting up a Chromecast is usually simple and straightforward, but if you find yourself stuck with any step, our guide can determine what to do next.
And under the initial setup instructions, we have the following steps to take. That includes the first thing you can do to make sure that Chromecast with Google TV brings you the best recommendations.
Connect the Chromecast to your TV.
This part of the process is irrational. Connect the Chromecast to the HDMI port of your TV and the USB cable to the corresponding port or power supply. Just keep in mind that if you are using a Chromecast Ultra compatible with 4K you will need to connect the adapter to the output; USB port does not provide enough power to store it.
Download the Google Home app.
You can get the Google Home app through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Most Android devices should already be pre-installed, however.
If you are using a Chromecast with a computer, you do not need a home app; just installing Google Chrome is enough. Visit Google’s Chromecast website and follow the instructions.
This can also be a good time to turn on your TV and choose the right input, although technically, you can go through most of the setup process without it.

If you have never used Chromecast before, it does not hurt to let Google Home show you how the streaming works. Select Learn How to Broadcast, and follow the instructions.
(Long story short: Find the compatible app, press the stream button. That’s all you have to do.)
